NED & DAN in the trend last day ))
Good mem)

Aggrandisement is about increasing power, status or wealth - denied payout or not - it was promotional and therefore self-aggrandisement. Gotta side with @Ned on this one.

Aggrandisement is about increasing power, status or wealth

So...what would you call the fact that Ned felt the need to upvote his 3 word comment to almost $3k?

I doubt it was for the money - it was probably so nobody could dethrone his comment. Promotion is obviously the whole point of the platform. He must have thought the EOS promotion was important enough to address - but he is showing the inherit weaknesses in the Steemit ecosystem. Zeus shouldn't come down from Mount Olympus to interefere unless there is a REALLY good reason. There is no censorship on Steemit IF you have enough SP - otherwise - self aggrandise with care ;)

so nobody could dethrone his comment

Right there, that's self-aggrandizement.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

That's not self-aggrandisement- he is the official voice of this platform - Dan gave that up a long time ago. Didn't he use the company SP as well? He obviously felt the posts were negatively affecting the user experience - I don't think it had to do with an increase of power or status on Ned's part. These guys obviously aren't sending each other Christmas cards - I'm sure @ned will probably power up whatever his comment gets paid.

Wow

It's right..

Lol Ned....

I must admit that I do not get what this is about...

You're not alone. Maybe someone can elaborate? :)

Lol its so funny!

Upvoted for aggrandizement.

Discontent minnows should create their own steemit and become whale from day 1.

Thank you reaction for making a transfer to me for an upvote of 5.68% on this post!

Half of your bid goes to @budgets which funds growth projects for Steem like our top 25 posts on Steem!

The other half helps holders of Steem power earn about 60% APR on a delegation to me!

lol rightly lol

Who gives himself a 2000$ worth of upvote.

Lol this is comical 😂 ol Jonny

Wow what a brake down.

That self upvoted comment was a ridiculous payout. I dont care about the beef between them but a 3 word comment isn't worth thousands. This isnt a speech by an ex president at an expensive dinner. It's not the words of Moses. It's a 3 word comment, 5 bucks is an overpay for that. Your blog made 30 cents, the guy who owns the site got 3 grand for a comment, welcome to steemit!

wow..

Hahahaha I really like it

I have upvote have you do not forget upvote have me, thank you friend

The other 16 projects are not having their CEO's take to the Steemit platform to proselytise. There are a lot of crypto related posts that have nothing to do with Steem but they are written by people with no ties to either project. Dan is selling a competing product (cryptocurrency) - his influence is obviously perceived as a threat - it seems like @ned is doing exactly what you want - trying to protect and grow Steem's market cap.

Market cap isn't the best measure of success. Steemit gives away money which makes it different than most platforms - the fact that Steemit is still alive and rewarding people in ways the original white paper never envisioned is a success in itself.

I disagree with your lackadaisical development comment. Developing a social network on a blockchain has never been done before. They don't have tons of money to hire developers. If you look at the number of hardforks over the short life of Steemit you see a community evolving. Maybe the UI of the Steemit platform could use tweaking - but thats not where the money is. The money is in having others use the feed in new and innovative ways which is why you see others create new ways to experience the Steem blockchain (like busy or dtube). @Ned can only do so much - its the "Steemians" at the end of the day dropping links and hoping for traffic and votes in return. For those of us who contribute - building a following and driving users from our other platforms is the only way this project can be built.

Dan isn't the CEO of EOS, he's the CTO.

Multiple crypto projects are discussed on this platform under the commonly trending cryptocurrency tag. I don't see anywhere in the Terms of Service that the representatives of such projects are not permitted to discuss them on Steemit. After all, this platform is described as being "intended for a general audience", not just specific crypto currency or blockchain enthusiasts.

Furthermore, Steemit Inc acknowledges in the TOS that outside parties will discuss their products/services on this very platform and has rightly absolved itself of any apparent endorsement to them: "Reference to any products, services, processes or other information by name, trademark, manufacturer, supplier or otherwise does not constitute or imply endorsement, sponsorship or recommendation by Steemit."

Dan will always be known as the architect and former lead developer of the Steem blockchain. His contribution irrespective of the work he is currently doing now with EOS is undeniable.

Steemit Inc has more money now in its coffers than it ever did before for the development of this platform. Recently, a $20M deal was agreed to for the purpose of bringing "funding to startups building on Steem."

This site is a centralized application on a decentralized global protocol - it represents itself as the "best application" running on the Steem blockchain in Steemit's 2017 Roadmap. To characterize itself as the best, while controlling an inordinate amount of the steem supply, sets itself up to a high expectation of quality and invariable scrutiny.

As for market cap being the best measure of success, Ned's stated assertion is that Steem should be valued among the Top 10 crypto projects in the world. Until the free market aligns with that assessment, it's safe to say that the crypto community is in disagreement and will remain so until further enhancements are made to this site as the self-marketed best application on the Steem blockchain.

Dan's a chief officer - you obviously missed the spirit of what I was saying to focus on a technicality. Other currencies are discussed - but as I mentioned previously - they are not other chief officers - let alone one with significant influence on the platform.

Steem Inc doesnt owe anyone anything - if a company feels threatened they will react. Dan was notorious for down voting and flagging peoples posts - so i'm sure hes not losing sleep. Being free of censorship (in the pejorative sense) does not mean Steemit is free of governance - there is a difference.

I think you're confused as to what the 20m was for and the direction the company is going. I bought Steem when it was 0.10 US about a year ago - today its sitting at $3 US - i'm not sure how that doesn't meet your growth expectations? BTC certainly didnt reward 30x over the same period.

As far as best application is concerned - name me one blockchain application that is more disruptive than this one? It should be a top 10 coin simply for being innovative - what has Bitcoin Cash or one of the other useless "top 10" coins done for you? The fact that we are talking to each other is proof that this concept is working.

Everyone also seems to forget the obvious. Steem is one of the fastest currencies and its free. It makes sense for businesses to use unlike many other slow or expensive options. The merchant side is under-developed but we are at the beginning of a new-era - good things take time.

Stellar fucking points bud. Whether I agree on ned upvoting his own comment or not one thing I do appreciate is your Bluejay pic. 👍😎

Steem is ranked B+ on Weiss Crypto-Currency Ratings.

Newest Version where EOS also went to B-: https://steemit.com/steem/@clayop/steem-has-achieved-the-first-b-grade-on-weiss-cryptocurrency-rating

Older Version where Steem is B-: https://www.docdroid.net/y8xcErJ/weiss-cryptocurrency-ratings.pdf#page=3

MarketCap says nothing about the value of a Currency.

Evidently, the free market doesn't agree with this characterization of Steemit as being the best that the blockchain has to offer. If it did, then Steem would be valued among the Top 10 already, as Ned's pinned tweet on Twitter asserts that it should be. Time for Steemit Inc and its CEO to reflect on why that's not the case.

You ever heard of the synonyme underdog?

Oh and - downvoted for sharing of false facts.

Pray tell, what "false facts" did I cite?

That Dan is the CTO of EOS and not its CEO? That's cited here.

That Steemit is the self proclaimed "best application" on the Steem blockchain? That's cited on page 21 of 22 of the Steemit 2017 Roadmap.

That Ned asserted Steem should be valued among the Top 10 cryptos by market cap? That's cited on the pinned tweet at the very top of his Twitter feed.

Your contention that market cap isn't a measure of value further controverts the Steemit 2017 Roadmap, where it in fact directly correlates the perceived value of the Steemit community with the overall value of the blockchain itself. On page 3 it says, "...performing more interactions is the single best way to develop the overall value of and to the community, and thus the Steem Blockchain and its economy and token."
