The creation of Metumor
Metumor was my very first character in D&D that started my tabletop career. Once I played this character, I enjoyed the thrill of D&D and how my DM described everything. I just thought all of it was fascinating. The very beginning was actually a one to two years ago. I make it sound like I've been playing for a long time haven't I. Anyways, I've just played alot in that time span. I have many, many characters. Probably not as much as others but a decent amount. Anyways, I got into D&D when I was playing tennis, believe it or not. I was talking to one of my friends who was Dming a campaign and invited me to join in but since I was focused on school I really never could. Once I had the free time to do so I asked him what it was about. As I described last post, he described to me. So after playing tennis he and I decided to head down to a Denny's and started talking more and more about what type of character I would like to make.
Tennis -to- D&D
Well, the more I started to think the better Metumor's story was created. How I was thinking was a little different than my friend was thinking. So when I first wanted to make the character I was focused more about background instead of his class and race, but that was ok due to the fact everyone thinks about everything differently. He was a human fighter.
Appearance
(Metumor kind of looks like this, wearing a blacksmith cloak. That's how he holds his weapons but both backwards.)
Backstory
So, Metumor's backstory was that he lived with his family, his mother and father, who treated him wrong and never gave him the light of day. They seemed to never care for them and it seemed that they never would. He lived in a sand castle that was in the middle of a dessert. So dealing with them till the age of 16 he ran off. He dealt with sand worms and sand storms while running away but since he lived there all his life he was able to get out of the dessert. He survived on his own for two years. When he seemed like everything was lost he made it to a mountain and collapsed. A dwarf found him collapsed on the ground and took him. Metumor woke up to a blacksmith noises and saw that the Dwarf was working. Sitting there amazed, Metumor realized that he wanted to learn how to blacksmith as well. Once the Dwarf was done he walked over to Metumor and introduced himself as Dean. Metumor tells Dean everything about his life and Dean realizes what happened to Metumor was terrible. Dean taught Metumor the arts of the blacksmith. Every single day Metumor would make the weapons and test them out in the back against a rock. One day Metumor was sitting there looking at one of the heavy swords in front of him and wanted to test something out. So he decided to cut holes in one, then went to grab a smaller heavy sword and did the same thing. He curved the blade and made rigids. Along the blade. He went outside to test them out he had the heavy sword in his right hand and the smaller one in his left holding them like daggers which was weird. Once he tested them out they broke. So, he decided to make this his mission to make heavy weapons used as fast weapons. Until he was 20 he finally figured it out and finished his weapons. In the beginning he called them hallow blades. By the time Metumor left he thanked Dean and he realized that Dean was more of a father to him than his own was and asked him one last favor. He wished to call him, Dean the Dwarvish dad. Dean looked at Metumor like he was his own son and accepted that title. Metumor gave his new father a hug and went off.
