What is Denarius (DNR)?

Denarius (DNR) was launched on June 14th 2017 with a completely new algorithm that has been named Tribus – based on a combination of hashing algorithms (if you are a beginner, ignore this, but they are; JH, Keccak and Echo). Denarius is a hybrid PoW and PoS, which allow miners access to mining the coin for the first 3 years after its launch. After which it will transition into a PoS coin. The creator of the coin focuses on speed of transaction – in fact users report being able to confirm transactions in as little as 10 seconds.

“wow! DNR confirmations are super fast.
i had 3 confirms in less than 10 secs.”

With the limited 3 year PoW period, the coin will be minable up until the 14th June 2020, which allows you plenty of time to still get started mining this new altcoin. Depending on rate of adoption and how many miners come on board for the 3 year PoW period, it is plausible that there may be fewer than 10 million coins in circulation by the end of that period. This undoubtedly will increase the long-term value of the coin if so.

What are Denarius’ benefits (core features)?

Besides fast transaction and being the first Tribus algorithm in existence, the developer also focuses on delivering encrypted messaging (already implemented) and stealth addresses that are hidden from the blockchain for increased privacy.

Who is the team behind?

It is currently a one-man operation, created, developed and maintained by the 25-year old designer and programmer Carsen Klock, from Idaho, United States of America. While there is limited information regarding who he is and what his background is on the official coin website, he is transparent about who he is on the official coin’s bitcointalk forum post and even provides a direct link to his own Twitter account, where he also lists a link to his own personal website (http://www.carsencustoms.com/about-me/). Doing a bit more search online one is able to find his entire CV on Linkedin. He has worked for various smaller companies in the past, but over the past one year and nine months he has been employed in Account Security at Apple. While he has a formal education in Graphic Design, it doesn’t appear that he has any formal education in programming. However, as we already know, the best programmers don’t necessarily have that either. The best ones are often and typically are, selftaught. Considering that he has worked his way up from Customer Support to where he is now, he appears to be a highly goal-oriented and motivated individual, especially taking his young age into account.

He also appears to have experience in developing other coins before, as he highlights during a Bitcointalk debate that he was paid by a friend to develop the newly launched Torcoin back in April 2017.

Exchange Sites

Denarius is despite of its very young age already listed on three exchange sites. The developer appears keen and active on Bitcointalk to keep adding the coin to more exchange sites, which increases its exposure and broader awareness. The more exchange sites it is on, the better for the long term adaptability and pricing of the coin.

The coin is now already listed on the following, with more being confirmed in the near future, at the rate the developer is pushing for the coin to get more mass market appeal.
