Meet Creature
We rescued Creature on February 22, 2014. He was about 2 months old at that point. He was mistreated and was going to be used as a bait fighting dog in West Virginia. Our family dog had just passed away, and me and my wife were looking at getting another dog. We decided we would try a rescue dog, and boy did we have our hands full.
When we first got him, he was very weary of us. He was also protective of his food, once he grabbed a empty can out of our recycling bin, and proceeded to run around the back yard refusing to let the can go.
I was able to work with him the first two months we had him, and made real good progress. He learned how to come, sit, lay down, give paw and also I can put a cookie in front of him and tell him to wait till I say its okay.
Now he is the cutest cuddly teddy bear there is! he still does not like strangers at all, and he is very protective of our family now. I am glad I helped give this little guy a new look on life. Thanks for looking!
Creature is an interesting name.
It's nice that you gave him a new home even after all he's been though and given him a second chance at a decent life.
Hopefully he will get used to the good life and not be so weary of strangers eventually.

Good Job. There is a parallel here that I have seen with children too. I have always been amazed at the resiliency of children and animals that have been given love and attention after having lived horrible situations.
Keep up the good work !

Dogs are sometimes much better than some people, they are very smart, faithful, real. They will never betray you, even if we abuse them sometimes, anyway, we are for them the best .
