At the Universidad de Oriente (Cumaná, Venezuela) there are many dogs that are protected by teachers and students. They travel freely through the facilities, receiving the affection of the people who live in the university.
Gretel is one of the dogs that lives there. She has been living quietly for years in the Faculty of Bioanalysis, where she is very dear to all. It is fed and cared for by the humans that voluntarily assume that responsibility.
Gretel had a brother named Hanzel, who was very similar to her and who died due to lack of medicines to treat her illness (cancer). She was run over, her legs were badly injured, she suffered diseases such as ehrlichiosis, anemia, malnutrition and has suffered painful blows from horses that commonly walk around the university campus.
However, Gretel is healthy and happy, expecting sweet kisses from her beloved human friends.
