Spitz pet dog

in dog •  8 years ago

Spitz is the name for a variety of dog breeds that have characteristic thick and long fur, as well as a rather small earlobe and standing. The tail is hairy and curved toward the back. In German, "spitz" means, among other things, pointy or sharp.

Spitz dogs live in the cold northern hemisphere. Spitz dog fur is like a two-layer coat. The inner coat of the feather is more dense than the outer coat, is waterproof, and serves as an insulation to retain body heat. The small ear shape reduces the risk of the earlobes exposed to frostbite, while the thick fur growing between the nails protects the soles of the feet from the sharp ice surface.
