backstory on my dogs

in dog •  7 years ago

5 years ago I got married a man (now my ex husband) who at the time was in the USAF, this took me from my home state of Virginia to Omaha Nebraska, pretty much the worst place I could think of really. However at the time he had orders to move to a new duty station in Okinawa Japan. We landed in Okinawa November 20th 2013, and obviously I had to explore my new and exciting surroundings. That is when I found the most charming pet store no more then a walk from my new home, I didn't have a job at the time so I ended up meandering to this area a lot. Thats when I discovered the most enchanting little dogs I had ever seen, the Shibainu. They are the smallest of the original Japanese breeds, and from what I understand a living national monument.

About a month later so right before Christmas 2013 I went out and got myself one, her name is Peanut she is now 4 and enjoys life here in Richmond VA. almost exactly a year later I brought home Marcy, and she's pretty much completely adjusted to apartment and city life.

(We moved back to America January 2, 2016.)

We have a friend that has a Shibainu named Rowan. She's so cute but very skittish. It's almost like she has the mannerisms reminiscent of a cat. Your dogs are adorable. Thanks for sharing.
