Its with a heavy heart that I write to you that on November 27th 2017, my 11 1/2 year old Black Lab/Golden Retriever mix, Puck, left this world. He had been a member of our family since he was 2 months and had brought us so much joy over the years. I have never lost a pet dog before and nothing could prepare me for the pain that his absence would bring.
Puck was born on June 3rd 2006. We brought him home when he was 2 months old. He was an energetic and lively puppy with a mischievous streak. As he matured he grew out of puppyhood and developed into a trustworthy and noble companion. He was loved by all who knew him and he was known for his excellent temperament and affection. Putting things into perspective, although I am deeply saddened that he is no longer with us, his death is not a tragedy as he had the best life a dog could ask for. From camping trips to swimming in the ocean, he lived a full and bountiful life of quality.
As one of my mentors reminded me last week, "It is not the quantity of his days, but the quality that count most."
I just wanted to compile a few photos to commemorate the life of my beautiful dog and I hope that you enjoy them. Some of them are ridiculous. haha
RIP Puck. I love you.

Puppies will be puppies!
Puck and his sister Maple having a good laugh!
He had a sense of fashion too and like to sport my custom hats!
He was model quality! 2013ish
Happy Thanksgiving! circa-2015
He was also a fire breather!
On occasion he even cleaned up quite nicely!
A life long hole digger!
Chillaxing!
More chillaxing!
Our 2016 camping trip! He loved camping and eating homemade clams!
He also loved car rides! He like to perch his head on my shoulder as I drove! This one was from 2 months ago.
About month ago, he really started to slow down. I'm grateful that I got to spent these times with him.
This was his very last photo. He was such a good boy. He mustered up all of his strength to sit up for this last shot. Shortly after this moment, he peacefully left this world in the company of the people who loved him very much.
This little memorial candle was made by one of my coworkers. I was deeply touched by how thoughtful that was.
Thank you so much Puck for the joy and love you brought to our house. Rest easy my boy.
What a precious boo. (Boo is a term of endearment I use for almost all fur babies). I'm deeply so sorry for your loss because I know the pain of it.
Puck was a huge part of your life and that is not something you easily get over. Thank you for sharing his pics. Some of those "Cujo" pics look scary but I bet he was very loyal and gentle as a lamb. :)
