Today my post ist some kind of sad and some might see it as a bit macabre, but as our dog passed away yesterday - the buddhist ceremony and the way they handle things here seemed to help us a lot. Of course our broken heart could not be healed in a second and we will never forget our lovely Dakota, but the ceremony is lots of help.
When she passed away at noon, after a very short period of sickness - she had whats said a chronix kidney failure - we called at a dog crematory.
A friend of us drove us ther with our sweetheart - this happens just a few hours after dead. There they took her, bedded her soft and cleaned her. Decorated her with flowers and orchids, burnt candles and incense sticks and we were given time to say goodbye. After that they prayed for her and then she was sent on her last journey in this live...into the oven.
After the bones are totaly cremated - they call and we will go with buddhist moncs on a boat and then the ashes will be let into the sea.
We will always think with love about our sweet Dakota - the poor baby who was only supposed to get nearly 1 year. She brouhgt light in our life and cheered us up whenever we needed her. She was a funny face and a shy but lovely kuddle mouse. Shy only with strangers...and she was so loved by all our other dogs, She sure will be missed a lot and always.
Dogs are naturally submissive to any creature with a higher pack status.

I'm really sorry for your dog. Unfortunately they have an average life too short, I love them so much but this fact that they live little is terrible, I would like them to stay with us forever.
