Dog adopts a monkey after losing his puppies

It is a story of true love between animals, the one that comes from Colombia and has as its protagonists a dog and a small monkey. Despite differences in species, the two specimens have become inseparable, ready to join together to fight loneliness. A report that quickly became viral on social networks, thanks to the publication of a video in recent days.

This all happens in Cartagena, where a Capuchin monkey of unknown origin has been around for some time. According to local institutions, the animal may have been bought on the black market and, at a later stage, may have escaped or even been abandoned by the owners. The inhabitants of Olaya Herrera's neighborhood, therefore, warned the authorities that they would take care of the small primate.

Delivered to the local zoological guards, the monkey received all the necessary care, with a view to a possible reintroduction into nature in the future. In the meantime, however, the animal has shown a certain intolerance due to loneliness and, for this reason, the experts have decided to meet him with a dog, depressed for the sudden death of his five puppies. Their love was a love at first sight: the dog immediately revealed his maternal instinct, while the monkey had no fear. The latter loves to climb on the back of his four-legged companion, for numerous races in the green. And it is not even everything, because the primate would also show a certain jealousy, issuing verses and vocalizing challenges to anyone who tries to approach the dog in its presence.

To date, it is not known whether the monkey can actually be recovered for reintroduction into nature, since the animal shows unusual behaviors, perhaps due to a previous existence in close contact with man. As a result, experts fear that it may not be accepted by other primates, perhaps ready to exclude and attack it.
