Hi shibe's...
since we are holding a lot or just starting holding coins...
i would like to share my experience in securing your coins...

  1. do not store huge amount of coins, any type of coin, in hot wallets. hot wallets are trading sites where you buy and sell coins. example: bittrex, cex, bitpanda, poloniex, cryptonator...
  2. pc wallet or core wallet are pretty much hack proof as long as you know how to use it... we all know that pc can be hacked or be infected by malware... so if you are much confident in your pc security... use pc wallet, create passphrase, backup your .dat file. encrypt .dat file. write down your passphrase. delete the core wallet installed in your pc. voila. you have a very safe cold wallet. you can restore your data by reuploading the .dat on a new computer. just make sure that you input the right passphrase and encryptions.
  3. nano ledger s... look it up... the best... even if your pc has malware... this baby can keep your coins safe...
  4. jaxx or exodus wallets... i personally use these as they give you access to your private keys... also... based on me research... many trust their service :)
  5. where do i buy my doge? im from the phillipines so i use credit card to buy coins. most of the time its going to be usd to btc to other coins (doge).
now im using cryptonator, im not advertising then though lol. i just find it convenient to buy doge directly via ccard instead of converting from btc. saved me from huge amounts of bitcoin effin charges!
please feel free to correct me. all the information above are from my person experience...
oh and if you want to mine doge coin using your phone. im using coinpot

I have been HODLing doge since the early mining days. Just saw the revent price go to 0.01$ for a while! Can't decide if i should sell for something else tho.

Doge is rank 9 in terms of blockchain activity (--> see blocktivity.info) It's a different way of measuring value of cryptocurrencies. I would definitely hold Doge as it's one of a few cryptos which has marginal fees and very short transaction times. Due to the congestion of major blockchains (BTC et al.), people will switch to faster solutions.
