Elon Musk Supported Dogecoin in Jack Dorsey's Dispute with Venture Capitalists

Fierce discussions about Web 3 continue on Twitter, after the founder of the platform, Jack Dorsey, wrote on Tuesday that the decentralized Internet does not belong to users.

"You don't own Web 3. It is owned by venture capitalists. He will never escape their incentives. Ultimately, it is a centralized entity under a different name. You need to know what you're getting into," Dorsey said.

Subsequently, he also unsubscribed from several people whom he denounces in his tweet, including Andressen Horowitz (a16z) co-founder Mark Andreessen, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Gemini founder Tyler Winklevoss. Andreessen, in turn, blocked Dorsey.

The founder of Twitter has recently shown himself not only as an active supporter of bitcoin, but also an opponent of other cryptocurrency projects, which, according to him, have moved away from the values of decentralization.

"This is a fight against rich people who take advantage of people like you. It should all belong to you," he writes in one of the last messages.

Dorsey then retweeted a cartoon depicting a venture capitalist gushing water from a tap "Web3" with the Ethereum logo, while a shrunken retail investor gets only a few drops.

The discussion was supported by Elon Musk:

"Has anyone seen Web3? I can't find him."

In a response comment, Dorsey suggested that Web3 is "somewhere between A and Z", thus making a reference to Andressen Horowitz.

The discussion continued this morning and again turned out to be centered around the long-standing confrontation between BTC- and ETH-maximalists.

"I'm not against ETH. I am against centralization, control of venture capitalists, a single point of failure and corporate lies. If you want to get away from the establishment, I guarantee that you will not find salvation in Ethereum. Don't take my word for it. Look at the fundamentals," Dorsey continued.

Billy Marcus, co-founder of Dogecoin, noted that he does not see any real opportunities to get away from the establishment and therefore prefers to follow his goals: to create, earn money and have fun. Bitcoin, according to Marcus, simply gives power to the new rich.

"That's why I support Doge," Musk commented.
