COFFEE SHOP DATES WITH BAXTER - Dogs Love Warm Weather!

Happy Spring Everyone!

Baxter and I have been enjoying the rising temperatures in Utah! There has been some gorgeous weather this past week, and we have been celebrating by visiting our favorite coffee shop patios near our house.

We always bring his Kong Extreme, a bone or chew toy, a bowl with water, and a bag full of treats. We hook his leash around one of the chairs or tables so he can wander around and play on his own, and I can get some work done without having to worry about him wandering off!

We stay outside for as long as we can, and usually wait until the sun sets before we head home. Baxter and I are both so happy when we are outside, and we enjoy this time of year so much. In the spring, it is warm, but not too warm. The sun is shining and keeping warm. Everyone hasn't swarmed the coffee shop patios yet, so we have plenty of space to hang out without feeling we are on top of other people.

We are having a wonderful Spring so far, and are so happy that coffee shop season is back! Baxter and I are having a blast hanging out in the sun.

We hope you are having a great spring, too!

I love Baxter!!
Our collie, Prince, is so obsessed with his Kong Frisbee, he's on his fourth one. He won't let it go. Chasing a squirrel into the woods, that red Frisbee is often still in his mouth. Occasionally a Frisbee turns up in the woods, months after he's dropped it. The Kong tug toy ( red figure 8) turned up far, far, to the west, in our neighbor's horse pasture. He loves the horses, but did he really wander off, alone, drop off his beloved toy, and sneak back home again?

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond! I don't know how I missed your post! That is so funny! We live in an apartment so Baxter doesn't have a lot of land to play on, but he still manages to lose his favorite toy, his ball, somewhere in our apartment almost every day! They are so silly, aren't they!?

I'm reading an ARC of Dave Barry's new book about his elderly dog Lucy, and he nails it, the toys and games and all things dog. Silly! Happy! We all know dogs live in the now and love to play and have fun, but Dave Barry says it so well. And how we humans pretend that there is nothing in the world we covet so much as that Frisbee, so we will chase and chase and play tug-of-war over it until one of us gives in (Hint: it will always be the human, unless, "Squirrel!")

Haha so true! That sounds like a cool book, I will have to check it out! They really are such a joy, and it is so true! I can't count the number of times that I have pretended to chew on his ball just to get him going! lol!

Oh my goodness, such a cutie! He has such a smoochable face! My poor Ryder girl is so afraid of loud noises that I can't always take her out to places to hang out. But we certainly are enjoying our spring and getting out to the dog park as much as possible!

That is awesome! It defintely took some time to get Baxter used to going out. We've really discovered that bring treats, specifically a Kong with peanut butter, helps distract him from all the things happening around us, and keeps him from bothering me while I am doing homework. The more you take them out, the easier it gets out, but it really is hard to start!
