Over 400 Million stray dogs roam the planet.

Dogs are no threat to human lives, even the fiercest of dogs still knows human is their best friend, just twenty (20) deaths per year is recorded in the United States and that's just from pets and stray dogs gone rouge, that puts total death worldwide from dogs to about four times of the figure in America.

Why is this Doggie Data and Statistics important?

Arguably, this figures still validate the fact that Dogs are mans best friend. However, when they pose imminent dangers to lives, this means something has gone wrong hence the need for these data.

One major reason for dogs to become danger is their territorial characteristics, out of the world's most territorial animals, dogs comes in 5th both wild and domesticated combined. Hippos, Male Ostriches, the Big cats, Rhinos and then Dogs. With Elephants, Chimpanzees, Baboons, Gorillas also making the list according to National Geographic Wild.

Most of the annual death from dogs comes for strays and free roaming ones, just a few instances from well kept dogs.

World Health Organization WHO puts the number of stray dogs worldwide at over 200 million in the year 2017, today it has doubled that amount and over 3.3 million dogs enters U.S animal Shelters yearly according to the American society for prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Dogs are mostly considered as parts of families, which puts the estimated number or dogs worldwide to 900 million, out of which 2.7 percent of this figure gets euthanized at US animal Shelters alone.

In some parts of the world like my country, free ranging dogs often end up on menu list at local restaurants, no matter how much people from other culture frown at this, these free ranging and stray dogs in my opinion better end up as food to some hungry people than just being put down which I consider a waste even though I have never eaten a dog before, maybe in the next life.
