First of all apologies for the hiatus I got busy with work and studies.

Todays Dog of the day is none other than the Presa Canario, Surprisingly this dog is not very recognized and most people would just mistake it for a Pitbull Terrier, however as you can see from the picture this dog is in matter of fact spectacular looking ,especially in an all black coat it looks like a cross between a dog and a jaguar.

Not only does the dog resemble a jaguar it also moves like a feline due to being 'Catfooted' meaning the paws are shaped like that of a feline and also having it's rear legs slightly higher than its front giving it a similar structure to a feline.

These dogs as the names suggests are native to the Canary Islands of Spain. They were said to possess a mythical status amongst the natives and were even used in traditional ceremonies, Their primary function is to herd and protect cattle but are also notoriously known to be used in dog fights. The weight of the breed ranges from 100 to 150 pounds for the males and have an average lifespan of 8-12 years.

These dogs require early obedience and socialization training, they have been accounted for being aggressive against other dogs and suspicious strangers.
