Marshall On The Job

Our dog, Marshall, is brave in so many ways.

He's on guard for mountain lions, porcupines, coyotes, fox, bobcats, and rattle snakes which we have many of in this neighborhood.

He walks the parameter checking all gates for bears and the neighbor's cat.

But when it comes to getting his nails clipped he's a wimp.

Oh...well, he's 98% perfect.

You're right, and he does have a sweet side when he's on my lap but otherwise...he has a job to do. Thank you for offering this tag for us to share in.

Thank you for offering this tag. Many of us appreciate your effort.

Your neighbourhood sounds dangerous, and at the same time exciting. When you go out, do you arm yourself? in case you come across some unfriendly creatures.
Marshall has a heavy workload. Maybe he feels he needs all his nails in case he had to fight the creatures that come near the house.

I've never thought of it in that way. You're right he might be guarding his nails to save them for battle...lol!

And yes, I do take pepper / bear spray when I take him for a walk. I've seen a bear in the backyard twice (but only twice in the 23 years I've lived here...not to bad) A rattlesnake got the neighbor's puppy last week in his lower lip. They had him in intensive care for two days. He is home now, but mostly the snakes are in the rocky part of the park but can be seen on the path almost weekly.

Once the nails are too long and they curl, then they lose their effectiveness. So, they should be clipped. 😊

We do not know the temperament of the animals in the wild. They might be harmless, but it is better to keep a distance from them and keep out of harm's way. 😊

Wow! Impressive Marshall! He needs a big bonus and a nice dinner for his heavy responsibility!

I think you're right. Do you think something like this will do the trick?

lol!

Hahaha. Marshall would just love this!

Aww he is sooo adorable!!!!!!!!

Marshall looks like an energetic dog @willowwisp :D
We also had a new Puppy because our old dog just passed-away and I miss it although I could not go and pet it sometimes :/

Can you pet and hold the new puppy? You will have to show us your new puppy in a post soon.

Now I just feel bad for cutting his nails! Never thought he needs those to kill predators in the neighborhood...or at least bump up his street credit as being a bad ass guard dog! @willowwisp
