Here is my down and dirty circular saw- my Ryobi model CSB122. I keep this loaded with my 18 tooth carbide blade This is a 12 amp motor with non-replaceable brushes...
I already know what you are thinking, here goes @silvertop again about brushes........ Well, I really need to tell you THIS story!
First off I love the 18 tooth carbide blade, I put this $5.00 blade on everything that needs to be rough cut. It cut's fast and lasts just about forever, and I have a stack of these blades ...... they were cheap, LOL!
So here I go.... You know @silvertop really does take care of his tools really..... but again this is my second Ryobi. I heat my home with wood, and I have found that a lot of the solid oak pallets that I can get for free up here have solid 4x4 oak runners. I cut these up and supplement my " real " firewood. I had a stack of pallets that are all gone now that you could see from space! I got three years of pallet cutting out of my first Ryobi for $ 39.99 free shipping on line.
This one is on year number two and still going strong. I average one blade per year even if I hit nails the carbide just keeps going!
Now you ask me @silvertop but what do you use for a REAL saw when you are doing REAL cutting. I pull out my good old built like a tank Makita, that I have built houses with and I have had since 1983, and I have not even changed out the brushes !
This is the 13 amp model, the newer ones have 15 amp motors, but with the carbide blade It cut's very good.
So there you have it , the cheap saw cuts just as good as the big bad Makita.....
Kind of makes you want to go build something doesn't it.... @silvertop
