Kristen Clarke and Offense archaeology.

I've spoken in-depth about "offense archaeology" for a while. Most of the egregious cases of this phenomenon have come from the PC left recently. I'll never get over the insanity of a board member at Gettysburg College losing his position because a student dug up photos of him dressed as a Nazi at a Hogan's Heroes themed party in 1980. If you need evidence that this has gone off the rails, that's it.

In the case of Kristen Clarke, the Biden administration's pick to head the DOJ's Civil Rights division, we're experiencing offense archaeology again.

Clarke apparently wrote back in 1994 that black people had superior physical and mental abilities.

She certainty made some incorrect claims. I can see why people would find it offensive and unbecoming of a civil servant. That said, seriously, she said it a quarter of a century ago. I was nine years-old when she said it. The Bills had just played their last AFC Championship game (until this Sunday). Duran Duran was still relevant.

What's more, it doesn't seem like she's gone on some kind of black supremacist march since. FOX dug up one stupid tirade that she went on 26 years ago.

I don't even want her to show contrition for what she said back then. I don't want people to demand that I show contrition for the stupid shit that I said ten years ago. I don't think anybody wants to be held to that standard. We shouldn't expect that from others.
