Week 1 (August 2018)

Welcome to Recent Developments. In this series I post about domain names that sold recently and have since become developed into an actual website. In other words, this is a focus on end user sales and what they are doing with their recent domain purchase!

End user info in the domain name industry can be extremely valuable. You can learn a lot from this type of data, because it shows you what an end user price was for a particular domain name. Hopefully you can apply that knowledge to your own domain investing both on the buy as well as the sale side. If you know what people are willing to pay for a domain it can help you price your domains right to sell.

On top of all that, it's fun to see what's new on the web!

Domains Recently Developed

Toycu.com

This first domain is Toycu.com which sold for $1,000 dollars at Sedo on August 14th. The end user appears to be a home security company. I'm not familiar with the company but I'm not a big fan of the company name simply because I can't help but think of toys. And I'm not sure I want my home security to be a toy, of course it could mean something else in Turkish.

The domain itself I like, it's a very short .com and it's pronounceable. These things make it a good domain, I'm just not sure on the end user's choice of a company name... but that's just my opinion and if it's your company name you should own it in .com.

BrainBakery.com

Next we have BrainBakery.com which sold for $1,253 dollars at DropCatch. The domain has been developed into some kind of website promoting training programs and speaking events in Amsterdam. I like this domain. It's 2 words, easy to say and remember, ends in .com and is very brandable. Good pick up by the end user.

TheMagicShow.com

themagicshow.com.jpg

This is my favorite one and I had to save it till last. The domain is TheMagicShow.com and it was purchased on August 14th 2018 at Sedo for $2,500 dollars. It's been developed and is now being used as a promotion of the magician Justin Willman.

This is a great example of a perfect domain name landing with a perfect end user. There really aren't going to be too many end users for a domain name like TheMagicShow.com but how perfect to end up with a start magician? If you have Netflix and enjoy magic, definitely check out his new show Magic for Humans.

That concludes this edition of Recent Developments.
