The pinnacle of 1940's - 1960's architecture was the arch. Homes were even built out of them. They save 1/3 the building cost & thereby 1/3 the labor. They've survived tornadoes, hurricanes, forest fires... insurance on a dome is pennies compared to traditional housing yet we're not building more of them? Why? Yet in my searches several companies will build a dome home for you. Pick your material, wood, steel, concrete... custom windows to high energy efficiency. More "old tech" getting swept under the carpet for "new" disposable plastic?
