MY HEALTH: MY IMMUNE SYSTEM

According to Wikipedia, the Immune System, "is that set of biological structures and processes within an organism that allow it to maintain homeostasis or internal equilibrium against external aggressions, whether of a biological nature (pathogenic agents) or physical-chemical (contaminants or radiation), and internal (for example, cancer cells) ".

In other words, the Immune System is composed of "cells that are found in different fluids, tissues and organs, mainly: skin, bone marrow, blood, thymus, lymphatic system, spleen and mucous membranes. The immune function: neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, mast cells, monocytes, dendritic cells and macrophages, all of them are mobilized through the blood and the lymphatic system to the different organs" (Translation to English, Source: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sistema_inmunitario).

Strengthen the Immune System

With the above, I have to assume that we have understood a little more about the Immune System, as the unique mechanism of natural defense of the organism against all the possible factors that cause diseases (viruses, bacilli, bacteria, parasites, fungi, contaminants, toxins and cancer cells, among others).

In this sense, it is my duty to indicate the different considerations that we must always keep in mind to strengthen or help our Immune System:

.- First, we must do everything possible to avoid viral, parasitic or bacteriological infections. For example, do not spend much time in very polluted places or where there are many people, drink clean water, if possible packed; cook food well, eat healthily and in clean places (take care of eating "junk" in street), not consume carcinogenic foods, wash hands, avoid insect bites, keep the home clean, and have adequate protection, selectivity and great care in sexual activity, among other aspects.

.- It is also very important to sleep well and long enough (daily between 6 and 8 hours at night, and rest between 30 minutes and an hour in the afternoon), because the quality of sleep helps the body and brain to rest and recover.

.- Do physical exercises regularly and enjoy nature when walking, jogging, cycling or any other sport activity that can be enjoyed fully, especially outdoors.

.- Exercise mentally, read, write, perform mathematical operations and artistic activities (painting, music and photography, among others), play and have fun every day.

.- Be disciplined, take care of our physical weight and rely on healthy foods and, if necessary, on polyvitaminic and energizing supplements.

.- Avoid stress, anxiety, sadness, worries and depression, use meditation or relaxation techniques (yoga or tai chi), laugh, sing, dance, play, and in general have fun as a place.

.- Do not consume alcohol unchecked (if possible not consume any alcohol), nor smoke cigarettes.

.- NEVER: Do not consume narcotic nor psychotropic drugs.

Foods to Strengthen the Immune System

One of the best strategies to stay healthy, is to enjoy a healthy diet, disciplined, well balanced and proportionate (rich in carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals), from which the body can extract as much nutrition as possible, especially on the basis of foods that specifically reinforce the Immunological System, such as:

.- The Milk, is excellent and if it is "raw" or not pasteurized, coming directly from the cows, it is better because it contains beneficial bacteria that help the Immune System; In addition, it is an excellent source of vitamins, calcium, zinc, enzymes and beneficial fats.

.- The raw egg is a source of high quality nutrients, especially vitamins, protein and good fat.

.- For people of nutritional protein type meat or mixed, the consumption of beef is essential, because it is rich in vitamins A, B and E, omega-3 fatty acids, beta carotene, zinc and conjugated linoleic acid, enhancers of the System Immunological.

.- For vegetarians or mixed consumption fresh vegetables are the best option for food and to fight pathogens, because they contain important minerals, vitamins, antioxidants and enzymes, necessary to improve health.

.- Coconut and Coconut Oil are excellent for the Thyroid; It is also rich in lauric acid, which becomes monolaurin in the body and strengthens the Immune System.

.- Food Mushrooms also strengthen the Immune System because they are rich in vitamins B and C, betaglucans, protein, fiber, calcium, zinc and other minerals.

.- Propolis is a bee resin, broad spectrum antimicrobial, rich in caffeic acid and apigenin, two phenolic compounds that help the immune response.

.- Tea helps to fight against microbes and viruses, for example Green Tea (Matcha is the best and Tulsi follows) is rich in Polyphenols (Catechins: Epigallocatechin) and antioxidants, which strengthen the Immune System.

.- The Herbs and Spices, are very beneficial for the Immune System; For example, fresh Garlic is antibacterial, antiviral and fungicidal and contains allicin that is anticancer.

.- Similarly, the best Herbs and Spices to strengthen the Immune System are: Honeysuckle, Andrographis, Licorice, Chrysanthemum, Elderflower, Eupatorium, Yarrow, Linden, Mint and Ginger (antivirals), Artemisia (antimalarial) and Turmeric (antioxidants and anticancer agents), Cinnamon and onion (antimicrobial), Nail (anesthetic and anti-inflammatory).

.- In general, it is advisable to eat foods rich in antioxidants, with vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that help repair damaged cells in the body (Beta-carotene, Vitamins C and E, Zinc and Selenium, among others). These are found in greater quantities in: Beta-carotene (in apricot, broccoli, beet, red and green pepper, tomato, corn and carrot); Vitamin C (in berry, broccoli, nectarine, orange, lemon, strawberry, pepper, tomatoes and cauliflower); Vitamin E (in broccoli, carrot, walnut, papaya, spinach and sunflower seed); Zinc (in oyster, red meat, beans, walnuts, fish and shellfish); and Selenium (in tuna, beef and walnut).

.- Other natural nutrients not so common, such as green algae (of river, lake or sea), echinacea, ginseng and aloe vera, help strengthen the immune system.

Excelente post amigo. Está claro que hay que tener un sistema inmune alto, para que de esta manera se puedan atacar agentes dañinos para nuestra salud, donde incluso algunos pueden ser mortales. Saludos!
