I wish everyone in Philipines would be the way you are. I've been in Manila once (close to my boxing camp) and walking around in the late evening wasn't fun.
Even with years of experience as a boxer I never felt very safe and welcome.

I guess its been a long time since you have been here, many things have changed, and Manila is just a tiny reflection of the total Philippines, I am sad your first impression is not that positive, its quite understandable, but still many there are good things in my country nowadays.
