Question: What do you do when you are stressed out? What helps you calm down?

My answer- I over eat and over spend when I’m stressed out. Working out is the greatest thing for me to help me stay calm.

I probably love to write a few poems or articles when I am stressed out. Helps a lot in changing my mood and calming down

If possible, I'd do a few jumping jacks. If not, I'll just play a silly game on my phone for a few minutes.

When i get stressed out I usually head to my phone and “Do something crypto”. Whether it is look at prices, charts, get on steem or Bitshares, crypto is my safe haven :)

Empty my head and listen to music (metal or classical) as loud as I can handle it! The more stress invovled, louder music helps.

During stressful times I try to exercise a bit during the day and meditate on emptyness a bit during the night. That helps a lot to bring the stress level down. If I´m REALLY stressed out, I´ll play a single player game, something like an adventure, or maybe an empire management game.

Hi @dodudes thanks for running this. When I'm stressed out at work, I take a walk and maybe get a snack. When I'm stressed out in life I also take a walk, play with my cat, go on a vacation or drink.

I play video games that are simple and don’t make me rage. And sometimes I have a cold drink next to me.

I try and do something creative like draw a sketch or something...or pick a small project to do, something that I can complete and feel some sense of accomplishment, usually helps me to calm down a bit and get my mind off whatever’s causing the stress.

I don't really stress. In high-stress situations, I usually just think through it "what do I need to do"
I have a rule that helps with that, I ask myself this question. "Is someone going to die?" If the answer is no then it's probably not that important.

I put my favorite music, and I start singing as if there were no tomorrow. Other times I dance until I get tired. Music and doing silly things alone helps me in those days.

I tend to distance myself from people, withdrawal within when I am overly stressed out. Nature or driving and any combination of the two, then with my new found passion for steemit I vlog and blog about it.

I jump online and play some League of Legends... which may not be the best thing as the stress can compound if I start losing games lol 😁

I try not to get stressed where possible by not worrying too much about what other people are up to but where i have the most peace is out on the golf course. I live on the edge of the Atlantic ocean and when you are out in the fresh air looking out at the endless ocean it's hard not to feel calm and happy.

My old moves were to consume high amounts of sugar and junk.

I am trying to move that towards working out and meditation, found listening to that stuff while working really keeps the baseline down to start with.

I'm honest, I smoke a cigarette, it's the best! Or I smoke marijuana, a little to de-stress, I do not like to abuse and go flying very far haha ​​It's also not good to get away from reality, you have to face problems and solve stress. Another very curious thing that I do, to calm my stress or anxiety, is to massage the center of my hand, the center of the palm of my hand or the center of my foot. I do not know why but that relaxes me a lot, I do not know why.

I find a quiet place to relax and possibly sleep off. Sometines ill do some exercise to stress me out to aid sleeping faster.

Never stressed here, but I guess gaming is helping. Some rounds, winning over the enemy and everything else doesn't matter anymore.

I listen to music while trying to figure out a solution to my stress.

Play a game for awhile. Chess, backgammon, Domination (a Risk like game)...

Trying to think about situation and how to resolve it. Usually I try to calm myself down.

I speak to my friends, to distract myself, and if speaking work I watch youtube videos. Beating yourself up is very powerful so redirect that power into what you want.

I just pauze , close my eyes, slowly breath and smile. :)

Music is a big destresser for me. I still listen to a lot of my old rock music from back in high school and early college like 3 Doors Down, Evanescence, Lifehouse, Three Days Grace, Papa Roach, Breaking Benjamins, and things of this nature. However, nothing beats coming home from a stressful day to my girls. At the end of the day, hanging with them is a better stress reliever than anything.

In my country we are living a situation that is very stressful, so I was forced to look for tools that will help me fight it. And the first thing is to look for something to do to distract the mind. When I'm stressed I start cleaning the house, I hear Michael Bublé's music mainly or I look for a movie on YouTube. A few months ago I read some books by Joe Dispenza and the behavior of the brain. Since then, I do not let my thoughts turn against me.

I pray about it, and try to let go of the things I have no control over.

My hands start shaking when i am stressed out.To lose the stress i take a nap.

When I am stressed out I take a minute to think about my mom. She is gone from this world but taught me a lot about juggling a lot at once and doing it with a smile. Those memories bring a few tears and and that brings a release and I am able to refocus myself knowing she would be proud of where I am today.

Smoke a joint and just chill out for a bit maybe a beer to go with it

I take a deep breath and walk a long time to relax and get away from those people or things that stress me out.

My healthy habits:

  • Prayer
  • Exercise (at my age that is a long, brisk walk)

My unhealthy habits:

  • Eat chocolate
  • Watch TV
  • Ignore/pretend there is nothing to stress about

I do my prayer, sleep a little or listen cool songs when I’m stressed out.

When I'm stressed, I smoke a cigarette and go for a walk to get photos.

If I'm stressed out I try to rush/finish whatever I'm doing. What calms me down is reflecting while in the shower.

I really like to listen Drum and Bass when I'm stressed out because it's something that won't repress my stress but it will canalice it in energy to dance and enjoy this wonderful genre.

Personally in that case I practise the meditation about "emptyness", wich mean I focus on nothing by closing my eyes and start to calm down my thoughts, till I reach a empty mind without any thoughts. These solve any stress and regenerete my all being!

I don't get stressed out too easily but if I am extremely stressed I sleep.
