DUSHYANT WAS KING OF HASTINAPUR AND SHAKUNTALA HAD BEEN FOUND AND RAISED BY KANVA RISHI AND HIS WIFE .
"King Dushyant and Shakuntala" Kalidasa's play Abhijhanasakuntalam- this most famous story in the hindu mythology.

Shakuntala is the wife of Dushyanta and the mother of Emperor Bharat. Dushyant and Shakuntala have a gandharva marriage. after marriage some time Dushyant Having to leave promising her that he will come to her. gives royal ring as a sign of their love.

Shakuntala waits and despairs who is too absorbed in her love .Durvasa curses her, saying she is thinking about that the person will forget her. Shakuntala shocked begs for forgiveness after recollecting his calm, assures her that the person when she shows some proof of their acquaintance will remember her again .

Shakuntala remind to Dushyant sets their capital, Hastinapur, to remin of their past love. but accident a fish consumes the royal ring, leaving Shakuntala with no formidable proof.

Dushyanta does not recollect Shakuntala, but his memory and love are rekindled when Sakuntala with her son from this abode to that of her husband, blessed with every auspicious sign.
