Evil Geniuses Secures The Upper Bracket With A Win Against Team Aster

Evil Geniuses last night lost to Alliance with a win-loss record of 1-2 in a best of three series. Tonight they played against the Chinese team, Team Aster, in game 1, Evil Geniuses went on to win the game flawlessly. In game 2, EG was dominating early in the game until the mid game, when Aster’s sccc with his Morphling obtained the Aghanim’s Scepter, the game quickly changed and to make the story short, the Team Aster managed to pull off a comeback win with their fearsome Morphling + Earthshaker combo. In Game 3, the game was so close wherein the two teams focused on their farm and engaged during the mid game and it was pretty even, until Aster’s sccc made two consecutive in his Ember Spirit wherein he got picked off near the top lane and then he bough back and then he was again picked off near the Roshan pit courtesy of Abed’s Dragon Knight who used his Blonk Dagger item and then stunned the Ember Spirit and then rtz’s Juggernaut killed the Ember Spirit. And then after that couple of mistakes, EG managed to capitalized it and went on to take the Aegis of Immortal and then started their push to the mid tower tier 3 and the range and melee barracks while Aster’s sccc is sidelined with no buyback. After that the Evil Geniuses cores especially Abed jumped on every dire team heroes and when sccc’s Ember Spirit respawned, both rtz and Abed chain stunned the Ember Spirit and delivered the killing blow and eventually forced the Team Aster to tapped out and call the gg. With that victory, EG has qualified for the upper bracket of MDL Chengdu Major.
