I think we'd all like that. Some know early on what they want to do. Which can sometimes involve several years of schooling, training or both. Dancer, lawyer, chef, engineer. Just to name some examples. Others don't have a particular path they're following, but, over time find something that fits with them. Many of us have jobs that are ok. They're mainly to take care of our expenses.
I've done different things over the years. Though much of it pertained to customer support. Whether I did that in an office or from home. None of the things I worked at inspired me. I have many interests. I'm an avid reader, film buff, like to watch sports, keep up with current events. Just to name a few. Of course, I enjoy spending time with my best friend, Ron (who is also my husband) & our kitties. We've both earned from survey sites & such. Some which might reward you for watching vids, for example. We have both earned from thes sites. Every little bit does help.
I'm not looking to earn from my interests. Though, if I happen to, I won't complain. What I've done that really nourishes my soul (as I've mentioned before) & what I'd love to earn from is, volunteering. Due to health I haven't been able to spend as much time at the shelter as I'd like to. Plus, there are other volunteering opportunities (with kids, seniors, the disabled & homeless) I'd like to pursue. As we know, volunteering is to do something where you don't get monetary compensation. You do it for the joy of helping others. I guess I could get paid if I was hired on as part of the staff. There would be more responsibility, less flexibility & I may not even be able to do what I am now. Spending time interacting with the kitties.
The other alternative is to find something that can support us well enough to enable me to do more volunteering. I don't know that that is. It took me 32 years (of working) to find that what I love most of all is volunteering. I do like writing (admittedly, not as much as volunteering). If I could find a way to increase the income for that, that's the only other thing I can think of & have experienced that I can see me being willing to spend time at. I'm creating some animal stories for Kindle. I'm looking to do observational/conversational posts for blogs. Have you ever earned from doing something you love? Or, are you still trying to find that?
Good post. Very relevant now as some of us(myself included) aren't sure whether or not we'll make a significant income from Steemit. The insanely tiny amount I've made so far off of here is in fact the most I've ever earned doing one of my passions, but I'm investing some time to see if it grows.
I hear you on the paid sites since I've done those for years. Any in particular you like?
