Well I guess at least this is good in the sense it lets us see a flaw in the Steem network. Let's hope the devs do something about it. The ability to block a user from interacting in anyway with your account seems the wisest approach to me.

Not sure if that's a good thing though. Next come blocklists and then it's all downhill from there.
Twitter is notorious with its blocklists that force people into small bubbles to breed more animosity and division between their users.

Darn, didn't know that. Guess we'll have to learn to consider a part of our income to pay bully tribute then...

I have no idea what that means, but if we consider our true income to be only the part we get after the 7 days of voting, it'll get simpler. The default income is always 0, and whether we hit above that after the week is over, that is what we can really call income.
The "Potential" in front of the figure means it is not yet income, and even then we have to pay half of it to the curators, and in my case I have to pay 3% more to eSteem, unless I want to use some other front end. Steempress takes 15% which is kind of harsh.
But after all these are taken into account, whatever is left is our income. (Albeit we might still need to deduct exchange fees and taxes from that, so our net income is way smaller than that.)

Yeah, maybe it's time to stop whining and just ignore the troll.
