Twitter is great, many important, famous or infamous, histrionic people are sharing their thoughts. Like John McAffee, Buttcoin, the economist Nouriel "bitcoin is worth nothing, will be zero" Roubini or Donald Trump. You don't know if you should laugh or cry. Much petter than pets and weddings on Facebook.

I came from Twitter and I knew Steem on Twitter. So.. my favorite social network, after Steem 😊 is Twitter. Right now my time on social network is about 90% Steem, 10% Twitter.

Similar story here... I "built a large following" on FB, Twitter & YouTube ... but I spend 90% of my social media time here on Steemit.

Let explain my choice of discord.

I spend many hours on discord everyday chatting with friends from around the world, attending voice shows and participating in giveaways.

Also, discord is where I receive notification about certain activities related to me on Steemit thanks to @ginabot

Oh please. STEEM blockchain has the most intelligent community. It doesn't invade your privacy. you don't have to see ads. It is still less toxic than other social media and you get paid for posting. There are STEEM alternatives (ripoffs) to most social media projects. Out of the ones you did mention I'd pick YouTube because there is so much you can learn about if you know to find the right channels.

I only use SteemIt. Partly because I can't stand ads on other platforms, and I don't feel motivated to post if there's no reward.

Well... I originally fell in love with Steemit because I got tired of having to pay FB/YT/Whatever to show my videos to people that I had already paid advert/promotion money to gain as subscribers.

Unfortunately Steemit is a lot worse... very few people actually care about anything except their own rewards... and so unless you have a large wallet (which little or no newbies on the platform do), nobody is going to bother watching/consuming your content (and upvoting you for the reward)... sad but true.

Having said that, while "organic" growth on Steemit is slower than on any other social platform, the growth that IS there is great... and hopefully things will be WAY different in 3-5 years, and then I'll be glad I stuck it out during the "circle-jerk" days :P

/rant over

P.S. Apologies for the rant... didn't mean to be negative... I really do intend sticking around on Steemit for the long-haul in spite of my naive outlook being proven wrong every day :P

That's certainly valid criticism. However I have had some human interaction on Steemit, so it's definitely not only bots and investors. Hopefully it will grow more human with time, as the platform is easy to find for those wanting to make "easy money", but eventually more people may hear about the platform and bring to it a more interesting point of view.

For me it is a tie between twitter yt and fb.

Twitter gives me news and now steemit posts to come to since I'm hooked up to 400+ of us on a list over there. I also have about 800 crypto peeps on another list - all since steemit - and they are pretty active. They and my other 5000 connections rt my steemit tweets far in excess of what the steemers do. Twitter is also the source of 75% of my affiliate income when I am on my game.

It is no good for my weight loss niche though.

My yt channel has 500 videos in my niches and I use it to compress videos before uploading to dtube. Then the day after I publish here, I go over there and post the same video to my yt channel telling people I make money with my videos here instead.

On fb I am in over 800 groups in all of my niches. I click the button on our post screens all day long and send my posts and other people's posts over there, telling people to come here. I run about 15 pages there in my niches, and this is where the other 25% of my affiliate income comes from

fyi, I am off the twitter project other than creating the list of heavy hitters for nathan and whoever else cares. I thank you and a few other people on that post who let me see the error of my ways. It’s hard enough to try to help fat people get thin. If I need to get the life sucked out of me, I at least want to be doing it in my niche. I mean this is the nicest possible way.
