Is It Worth To Deal With Airdrops?

SE Market

Sometimes you are walking in a store or supermarket and smiling people give you a product for free. Obviously with the point to incentivize you to buy more from it later. In the cryptocurrency world, the “airdrops” are playing a similar role, when issuers or founders are gifting you a coin or token.

Today the tokenization is advancing on Steem blockchain, dozens of new coins are appearing on the Steem-engine platform. There are also airdrops, I can remember the Palnet (PAL) token and the SNAX tokens. Some are easy to get, by others you have to make some new registrations, open a wallet or install some new software, browser extension.

If you got the airdrop, you must store keys, monitor the afterlife of the token, understand the purpose and mechanism of it, maybe find some use cases. Get tokens for free requires work and attention, in reality. Did you try it? Is it worth?

  • Yes, airdrops are a good business.

  • No, not worth the work and attention.

  • It depends on your luck, some are ending really profitable.

  • I never tried to participate in airdrops. (But I heard or read things.)

  • They are mostly scammers or spammers, beware of them.

I see it as an invitation to investigate the work of that coin/token. If I don't like it... I just dump it immediately and buy the next thing I find worth.

Basically, it depends... but yes, it's normally a form of compounded investment for many. For me... just an invitation on "how long" I will stick to that coin/token if they don't prove to be great for the community.

Also, there are WAY more easy ones to get than the ones you mentioned... if you give it a quick pick on big players... you will see the tokens they have and that you can understand how easy they might be to get... you just need to try it!

And sometimes, that's just the objective...

Some page or author where we can find all airdrops listed?

Not that I am aware... the best is to look at the tokens... and then explore the ones you see fit.

remember Byteball, that was a good one, Vitae, another good one, at one point they shot up over $3 each.
I used to think they were all a scam, but to be honest I had received tokens/coins from quite a few now, I am literally signing up for a few airdrops on my phone now!
It's an android app, called free airdrops.

Thank you for the info. I see there are various apps (also Airdrop King or "Airdrops").

I started my crypto journey as I an airdrop hunter back in early 2017. It was big deal back then, not until they became too many, confusing, difficult to track and scamy.

Steem engine tokens are just coming into the lamplight and hence still very open for some great profits. I have seen someone turn 8 steem to over 500 steem by buying Leo token very early. There are equally many of sorts who bought Pal at 3 cents.

You seem to know very much about this. Maybe you could make a "weekly airdrop report" when you have time. I would read it.

Lol no time!

Great article, I find that most airdrops are not worth the time and attention. Have a great day!
