Battle of the Sims: Sims 3 vs Sims 4

Previously we've debated politics, and science, now I come for your opinion on which game to get for a friend's birthday.

During the course of having a few pints, the topic of which Sims game to get for a friends birthday was raised. She recently graduated and is getting a new laptop. She has Sims 2.
My question for you, my fellow Steemians, is this. Should we get her Sims 3 or Sims 4?????

**Both games have pros and cons...
**

**Sims 3 the Pros are:
**

1. The Game is an Open World
2. Easy to use
3. Base game has lots of content

**Sims 4:
**

1. Better Graphics than Sims 3
2. Sims have better interactions with each other
3. Shorter load times?

After several pints of Guinness, and much debate, we were unable to reach a conclusion.

So I come here to seek your wisdom.

Without buying all of the DLC! Which game to you Prefer?
