Dpoll 45: Did you ever had a car accident?

It happens before you know and we seldom count on it.

Car accidents. We all drive cars, we love to drive fast, think we are the best driver there is and the rest of the drivers seem to suck.

The fact is not every driver took lessons and not all driving schools worldwide teach the same. If times pass by we do what we like no matter if it's forbidden or we harm someone else.

Are you one of these untouchable drivers?
Do you drive too fast, pass by at the right, show your middle finger, are tailgating, push people off the road, give light signals so you can pass by with 180 while 80 is allowed and drink while you drive?

Accidents happen but most are because of driving too fast and social behavior of one driver who gets away with it. The victim can literally drop dead.

@pereu4ivatel nee upvote is niet hetzelfde als like. FB kan altijd like geven, hier heb je VP nodig.
Downvote is negatiever als dislike en heeft gevolgen voor reputatie!

in alle netwerken 'dislike' altijd de reputatie verlaagd, en VP - het geval is persoonlijk, ontmoet ik vaak een tekort RC, wanneer ik niet kan stemmen en becommentariëren

Yes. And I had that exactly as your description, being young and any car came to me is a race car. It was 4am in the morning as I was rushing home to sleep, I pull off from a green light, seeing couple hundreds meter away is another traffic light junction, I'm 100% sure that's green as well and I don't wanna wait. Everything went well, as my calculation, reached the next traffic light it hasn't even turn yellow and a biker run his red light. My speed was estimated at about 80kph. I hit the brakes but it was too late. The bike got an instant dismantled and scattered all over the place. The rider went up the sky and got throw off about 20meters away from the impact point. Fortunately the biker suffered minor injury only, and found he has no license, the bike has no insurance.

As I made a police report on the incident, the police said they couldn't prove who is at fault since there's no witness to my incident 😪

Ever since, I understand the real meaning of accident. I don't have to commit something stupid in order to cause an accident. Had I just slow down a little and be cautious a little before crossing the junction, it could save me a lot of trouble, and my toyota corolla KE20.

I once ended with my scooter on the front of a car. The car hit me because?
Well I left my kids waited for me so I guess the driver was lucky.
My kid was hit by a car that left it's driveway.
I bumped into a car on a parking lot plus once into a heap of sand and was pushed of the road several times. Most cardrivers, truck drivers included, hate you if you drive a small car or the max allowed speed. ❤️

I have not drove a car so far, but I traveled with cars a few times.
Luckily/fortunately I did not had any car accident so far, and I hope that I will not have any car accident in the future either.

I live on Long Island, NY. Accidents are bound to happen frequently here due to the high level of traffic. The people who rush, text, do their make-up, or whatever else distracts them from the road are mostly to blame but the aging infrastructure plays a role as well. Many roads are in desperate need of repair but it seems the town/county/state or whoever's in charge of taking care of them can't keep up.

Anyway, I've been in a handful of car accidents in my life. I've even been in multiple accidents where my car was totaled. Thankfully no one, including myself weren't injured in an of these instances. I guess you could say I'm lucky. 🚗

@billybohner You sound like a lucky bird indeed.
The city will not repair those roads or take action on those spots where most accidents happen? That is a bad thing for sure.
