One more D&D fantastic location finished. - step by step pictorial

Good day my friends. I have finished a new D&D illustration for my D&D campaign and Patreon page. This is the completed illustration for reference.

I start with a crude sketch only to get things where I want them to be.

1.jpg

First things first, I draw the main lines and features of the map, in this case, it's the walls and trees.

2.jpg

I then add furniture and small items. Only outlines.

3.jpg

Now I add all the small detailes in the items, the walls and the hills outside.

4.jpg

Now color. I start with the small stuff and upwards. Here is the furniture and small items colored.

5.jpg

Now I color trees and add a shadow outline to the interior of both buildings.

6.jpg

Add color to the trees, hills, road and also shadows for everything.

7.jpg

I plan on having an alternate image with roof. Here is the roof linework.

8.jpg

Now I add all the small details to the roofs.

9.jpg

Final color and shading of the roofs.

Here's the completed illustration.

Fantastic! How much of this is done by hand?

Hi, sorry for the late reply. It's all hand drawn. I use a wacom drawing tablet and photoshop. The only thing I didn't draw in this illustration was the sword in the compass. That one is by Daniel Waltwall, a creator I know on Twitter
