I've especially always liked drawing portraits. The eyes always show alot of expression in my opinion which is why I always draw then first.
I then do other parts of the face and finish with the hair and hands.
Teeth I always find hard to draw. I think it's best to do very faint lines for teeth and avoid it being too dark. Then the nose only add the shadows you can see, don't define it with a line.
Very nice portrait, I used to draw for fun durning lessons, not as good as this though, maybe I should try doing it again :)

Beginnings are never too smooth. Gotta crawl - then walk - then run, that is how it goes with all things. I look forward to your progress. Maybe in a years time you'll be a bright up and coming artist on steemit. With enough hard work one never knows where they can end up in a year or two -in any given field. I look forward to your writing too.
