Oil is wonderful because of the drying time. It allws reworking and a generally longer process which can be thought of as a greater chance to express yourself. However, acrylic, and other fast drying paints, as well as inks all have value. Many people work in several media quite happily. Fantastic expressive work by the way. I like it.

Yea that's what my painting teacher keeps telling me. I'll probably buckle down and buy some oil paints this summer.

That's great you have the resources! Linseed oil, turpentine, and liquin to dry it faster and thin it if you like. Love the smell. When I started the oil was cheap, but even then artist's quality linseed oil was more than the raw stuff but I learned that raw oil left in the sun on the windowsill for several months actually did become useable. DOn't suppose that matters in this modern day and age etc. Wish I still had some of my oils to show you but I'm afraid i've been a bit of a vagabond and much of what I have made in my life has fallen by the wayside. It's a pity..... many of my works were actuallyy sabotaged at one point. When we were young and one of my brothers hated me. SO look out for your precious artworks. You'll miss them if you lose them as I did many of mine.
