Meeting Powerwolf (a Rockstadt experience)

I am nervous. I had expected this band to play for quite some time now and I am finally here. But the pressure and excitement are building up. I look to my right and see a big family, with 3 children which are very young. There's the dad holding on his shoulders a little girl, about 4 years old, with large pink headphones on her ears, her older sister, about 12 I would say, holding her little brorher (he looks a bit older than the youngest girl) in the same way as the father does, and the mother which stays by their side. They are thrilled, the kids keep asking "When does it start? Mooom, when does the show begin?". I am surprsed and a feeling of joy overwhealms me by seeing parents bringing their family to a power metal band such as Powerwolf. I could hear the little ones humming some of the rythms of the songs, so you could see they were fans.

A couple more minutes passed, but still no sign of the band. I am beginning to lose pacience. I try to keep myself ocuppied by looking at the crowd, but they all seem to be waiting for the same thing. What a massive crowd behind me! They surround and capture the horizon.

I turn around and at that same moment the lights go out. Everything falls into a deep silence. I forget where i am, i feel connected to everything that happens around me. Then, in a blink of the eye the whole crowd roars " Po-wer-wolf! Po-wer-wolf!". The drummer steps up, the guitarist, the bass player and keyboard player, and then, the singer, dressed as a dark priest of the occult, face white, eyes dark and so the epicness commences!!

It was an incredible show! Attila, the voice of the Powerwolf band, kept us entertained throughout that faithful hour, not only with his harmonies, but also with good humor and charisma. He made us scream the verses of the songs from the bottom of our hearts, he made us humm together the melodies, he made us jump and get lost into the music, being filled by the powerful sounds. I enjoyed every last bit of it and it gave me the inspiration to recreate the artwork from their last album, "Sacrament of Sin". Sacrament of Sin.jpg

This is the original artwork, from their CD that I've enjoyed after getting home.

I will also post at a later time the process of creating this drawing, so that you could find some useful tips about how to do it yourself.

See you around and never give up on doing what you love!
