This drawing has the perfect "graphic density". This is a subject I have in mind since a while: more or less, it came to say "when to hatch and when not to hatch"
it makes the visual experience amazing and surprisingly, leaving the dress suggested by the line contours, and then we are trapped by the tangle of ropes and pain that the hands evoke, giving sens and movement to the visual experience!

Whoa the story is pretty disturbing, my skin crawled just by reading about this guy's thought. Since I feel something strong, I have to say that it's a good story.

Isn't colored paper the best? My personal favorite is colored pencil on black paper so that you can color in white highlights and get the full range of contrast without having to block out the whites as you do when you draw on white paper

Anyways, the colored paper looks like it works really well for you, I found that it reduces the contrast of black lines and makes the drawing more harmonious, and also creates a mood and reduces the anxiety induced by a white sheet of paper.
