This is my entry for the #drawitbetter contest with the theme Cartoon Network Characters. Thank you @sirsensei for hosting this. I myself would like to join for as an amateur artist I want to learn and expand my horizon in knowing a lot of ways of how artists express their arts. So now this is now my entry.
I chose Mordecai from the series Regular Show since I can still remember how fond I am with Mordecai and Rigby tandem. Mordecai tries to be responsible but his friendship with Rigby, who is totally shameless wins. That is why I can say that sometimes I can be a "Mordecai" - that at the end of the day, the fun prevails.
Now, I will show you the process of making this Mordecai portrait. Firstly, I randomly painted the paper blue as I think this would be a good match with Mordecai's color.
Next, I used a regular 2B pencil for sketching Mordecai's outlines.
Then using the 0.5 Uni Pen, I traced the pencil drawing to finalize his outline.
Then I started painting the blue parts, I made it sure that this is darker than what is on the background to emphasize the portrait and to not be flooded with the background.
Continuing to other colors like black and white...
After finalizing his appearance, this is now the finished product.
Hi buddy. Nice post & work. Thank you for both.
Good luck with the contest. Be well*
