Snapchat-1138235396.jpgFor everyones knowledge I have never used wax or gel in my hair as wax and gel can get stuck in dreads even if washed fully and properly.

I have always been a fan of the methods including

  • sea salt

  • towel rubbing

  • essential oil application

  • sectioning hair

The all natural method is best and if you want your dreadlocks to be more uniform then it is an important step to section your hair off. I sectioned my hair off at around 3 inches in length since this is the minimum I would recommend anyone to start with.

Now if you don't section your hair the dreadlocks produced will be of different widths shapes and sizes. So personally I sectioned my hair with rubber bands (loosely) so that the hair starts tightening in the right way that I want it to.

#1 rule of getting dreadlocks

PATIENCE

PATIENCE

PATIENCE !!!

If you don't have patience then I wouldn't recommend trying to grow dreadlocks , unless of course your don't mind shelling out hundreds of dollars to get your hair dreaded by a place of business. There is nothing wrong with this although I am a very frugal person and the reason for me growing my dreadlocks back was because I was tired of expensive haircuts every 4 weeks.

I recommend this salon located in my area in New England on the Massachusetts border, I have never been to this salon but their website is very useful and they can answer any questions you have about getting dreadlocks as well as setting up appointments with extensions if you have the money for it.
