Meditation

Meditation is essentially just maintaining awareness while relaxing the mind and body. The tendency of the mind wandering during meditation is very common. It’s like an untrained monkey jumping up and down with no purpose or direction. A method I frequently use is placing awareness towards my breath whilst breathing to fully capacity. Noticing how the air fills and exits the lung.

Stabilizing

Stabilization prolongs your dream time. This is one advance way to surely increase not just the length but also vividness. The next time you are lucid in a dream, I encourage you to attempt a short session of meditation. Even if it’s just 30 seconds, it goes a long way to reinforce your consciousness so you can recall your task. Visualizing roots from the earth connecting to you or white light of energy surrounding you is just a couple variation to go further.

Lucid + Meditation

So what happened when I did it? One of the most profound lucid dream experience. Usually when I shut and open my eyes, I’d accidentally move it physically and therefore end the dream. However, this one time, as I slowly shut my eyes and breathe with clear thoughts, the dreamscape around me start shaking. If I remembered correctly, I tried opening my eyes and peek out to see what was happening. The shocking thing was, the dream was shattering and collapsing like a broken mirror, pieces of glass falling from it. What transpired next was me floating in space, pure DARKNESS. No lights or whatsoever. I am without body, just pure consciousness. I don’t really know how to describe it in words. I am present at the same time there’s nothingness. After 20 seconds or so, I saw a dim light from afar slowly getting bigger. Then an image appear in the light and I went through it. Now I am back in dreamland. I believe this could be the VOID that many meditators or expert lucid dreamers talk about. The space between dreams and the physical.

Another occurrence was just weird. This time I did not close my eyes. The setting is probably a school corridor, not too sure about it. I just sat down and started breathing slowly and deeply. Suddenly, it’s like my astral/soul float upwards while my dream body remained seated on the cement ground. As I took a deep breath, I float and when I exhale I fall back down. Seconds later, I look to my left and witness a glitch. A dream character’s face started changing rapidly back and forth between a male and female. The gif below is the perfect example.

My Thoughts

While this is an experiment, I can’t guarantee that you’ll experience the same as I did. I’ve read somewhere that a dreamer experienced pure light which is totally opposite from me. Try it out and let me know!

This is definitely something I intend to try within a Lucid Dream. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Yeah give it a shot , best of luck !

I was going to ask about this. When I meditate lately I have had very short periods of light shows. More recently it has gone from different never before experienced color's to a dim pure white and it never last for much longer than my perception of it. Aloha which means love.

That's cool ! If you're able to hold it longer, try stepping into it ! I used to do meditation but i gave up quickly. As the monks said, meditation in lucid dream is usually more intense and it equates to 30 days of retreat. crazy huh

It is! Also that is good advice on trying to "step into it". Been reading Andrew Holecek's new book, Dream Yoga and it talks about a lot of all of this too.

Your experience of the pure white light when meditating sounds a lot like how the Tibetans describe clear light experiences and yogas. I have similar experiences as part of a lucid dream yoga practice. I hope you continue to explore that and share yours. :)

i have learnt what meditation realy mean from you.upvoted.follow back
