Dresden Frauenkirche is a Protestant Church in Dresden Germany. The preceding Church was a Catholic Church, before it became a Protestant Church, during the Protestant reclamation. The Church was displace in the 18th Century by a large Baroque building. Dresden Frauenkirche is viewed as a remarkable fact of Protestant sacred design, highlighting one of the biggest domes in Europe.
Founded in the 18th Century, the Church was destroyed in the bombardment of Dresden in World War II. The ruins were left as a war remembrance, following the decision of the East German regime. The Church was rebuilt after the reunion of Germany, in 1994. The remaking of the exterior was completed in 2004, and the interior in 2005. The Church was reconsecrated on 30/10/2005.
