Teresa
Teresa is the perfect example of perseverance and drive; she is a single mother, who thanks to her ingenuity and desire to improve herself has managed to carry out her 4 children, including her only daughter, Sandra -who currently helps her in the premises- studied international commerce, and has made projects with prospective to export Mexican culture to the world, besides being a nurse and just like Teresa single mother.
Teresa is a woman who, at 72 years of age, wakes up every morning at 5am to get ready to go to what for many years has been her work and second home, since she has been working in the market since she was 15 years old, when it still did not exist in itself but was just a group of people who gathered in the street to sell various products. She worked with her grandmother, who always changed the products she sold, but it wasn't until her grandmother decided to start selling tamales that Teresa managed to put her ingenuity into practice, as they weren't the only ones who sold tamales many times they couldn't sell all the tamales they had prepared. Then it was there, when young Teresa decided to take a comal and start frying tamales, to the surprise of her family, that was a success! And everyone who went to the market had to do with this novel creation, which, although not the healthiest option, is probably one of the most delicious tepe on the market. From then on Teresa was little by little taking over the reins of the business, until we arrived at today, where she has a great place where two of her children help her during the week and on weekends there is such a demand, that her older granddaughters will also help her, since she not only sells fried tamales, but also atole, fried fatties and many more Mexican delicacies.
Not everything has been rosy in Teresa's life, even though today she has managed to have economic and family stability, when she was a child she was poor and had to get up every day at 3 a. m. to be able to go to work on foot. She collected, sifted and cleaned beans, and for 100kg she was paid $5 pesos at the time - all this was in the days when Querétaro was still a small town.
Sandra and Teresa believe in the planning of things, and that if you visualize the objectives are fulfilled. It is for this reason that thanks to their hard work and previous planning they have traveled together as a family to various parts, being their favorite destination Acapulco and the most frequent places Bernal and Pedro Escobedo. Teresa affirms that her greatest blessing is seeing her children thrive as well as watching her 4 granddaughters grow up, and that her family is the most beautiful gift she has in her life.
Many thanks to Teresa for sharing a little piece of your life and for so much charisma and welcome.
