I can't remember exactly how it happened, as I am a control freak, but I found myself a passenger in my daughter's boyfriend's car. To distract me from thoughts of imminent death (he is a good driver, but don't tell him I said so) I took landscape pictures of our town. These pictures were taken in small town inland South Africa in summer. There are quite a few...!!!
The slight blurring is due to a moving vehicle....sorry!

Everything is so lush, bright, and vibrant there! Even the umbrella. And I can't remember the last time I used one to keep the sun off me. Maybe once at the beach.

I am about 340km from the beach. We have a public pool, but nowadays it is not the best place to visit, kind of a teen drinking spot. (Yes, very safe!) In SA almost everyone has their own pool. Our previous house had one. When we moved to our new house, I wanted more children, and my daughter was 3, so I could do without the angst of a pool. Then I couldn't afford one! (We lose kids to drownings regularly.)

Loved the idea of distracting yourself whilst someone else is driving. And with some drivers I have been driven by that was needed - in fact something so much stronger was probably actually needed. Glad you survived the experience.
