✈ Fog Dipping (drone video)

Flying above the fog in the mountains is one of the most satisfying experiences of FPV and drone flying. While cruising above this dense layer of clouds, the whole world below seems drowned in a soft, fluffy ocean.

Flewn with this selfbuilt mini quadcopter based on the GEPRC GEP-LX5 Leopard airframe.

its not scary when you stand up there ? i would feel dizzy i guess,,, AMAZING

There is a stable railing you can lean on so no problem!

Absolutely gorgeous @gric! I loved watching this. Feels so immersive from the drone's perspective. Where were you flying? The ocean cliffside is incredible.

Thanks @axios! It's the Hohe Wand Plateau in Lower Austria. I live in a village just at the foot of these mountains.

Ah you are blessed my friend! Thanks for sharing the beauty from your side of the world.

it must be very exciting :) to feel lost between fog and clouds ..
watching was really enjoyable :) i hope i will buy one from these drone :)) i liked my little dog very much! :D

Yes, it's quite exciting but also very challenging, especially with these fast racing drones.

ah .. I am sure that it is difficult .. but you are a very successful driver! :)

It's scary how manoeuvrable the drone is. You just put a gun there and it's a flying killing machine.
Nice song, on my playlist now :d

Now look how this guy is flying one of these:

Holy shit!!! Holy shit!!! But how is it possible?? No wayyyyy...
He just changes angles as he likes))

Yeah. Going back to the simulator...

Well this is some next level shit. This sport will get crazy once it hits mainstream!

Btw, epic scenery on your video. Really liked the view out on the horizon. Austria seems like a good place to be flying!

Thanks @igster!
Austria is actually one of the worst places to fly because of the ridiculous regulations which made drone flying like this basically illegal. It's a country ruled by complete idiots.

That's madness!

And he just flies through the branches?!

There's a good chance that you break a prop when you touch a branch. But as long as you don't hit concrete with like 80 km/h all you have to do is to replace the broken prop. These things are built to resist hard crashes.

Woww true beauty @gric Well drone is a next level thing, I'm just a rookie photographer though just joined steemit and hoping to achieve great. I'd really appreciate if you can take a moment and see my photography.

Thank you!

Super cool video, great location. Makes me miss living in the mountains, I'd love to be able to fly my drone in an alpine setting.

Thanks @scottstevens!
All you need is a super-long-range setup! :-)

I'm currently using a DJI Inspire, and although I love it, unfortunately I can't do the dips and dives like you're able to do with yours.

You need a racing drone! DJI drones are for filming, not for flying! :-)

Ha! I know. Maybe one of these days I'll give in and get one. They look like a lot of fun!

Nice shot they look amazing. You seem to like drone I do drone video too. We can follow each other.

Fog is the most beautiful thing for a drone pilot!

...except for that one time when one of my motors from my DJI Phantom broke because of the wet fog and it fell 150 meters to the ground...

I have the problem that whenever I fly into the fog for longer than 5 sec the lens of the camera gets completely "fogged up" and I don't see anything...

Teach me xD

thats some good view @gric

Thanks @samstickkz!

Thats pretty neat!

Thanks!

Thank for showing us such a great view! Isnt it safe for drone using in foggy day?

As long as you don't fly into the fog for longer than a few seconds it's not a problem. If you stay longer then your camera gets fogged and consequently you can't see anything. The fog can also mess with the electronics if it's not protected against humidity.

Thank you for your information and answer! I am interested in drones but I didnt buy yet. Beause I dont have any time to spend with it now. I will buy drone at first opportunity. I'm dealing with GoPro now. I am trying to contribute #goprophotography in steemit as being a minnow. I think you're dealing with GoPro? You can check the tag, also my blogs.

Amazing idea. One of the great possibilities of drones. What does FPV stand for please ? Flying per View ?

First-Person-View

Oh yeah of course. Thank you.

Wow great video

Thanks!

Wow, still can't believe how good that video quality is! Nice flying, that scenery is wonderful.

Thank you @renascence!

Wow I admire your skills, first I was amazed how you made this drone yourself and then about the way you fly haha! I'm nowhere near those flying skills. Keep it going!

Thanks @siegerjoostens!
I'm just a beginner! If you want to see what's possible with these drones check this guy's videos:

This is soooooo rad!!!

It feels that when you're flying there would be high hopes...thanks @gric for sharing your euphoric experience......AIM HIGH!......FLY HIGH! :)

Thanks @aurisco!
