As for my first foray into posting here, I will start with my entering into the world of Multi-rotors. Some call it drones, some call it quadcopters. Whatever you call it, it requires some skill to keep in the air.

One day, I watched a few people fly these seemingly small flying devices that didn't use wings. I became interested. I found out that what they were flying were what they called Drones. Specifically, the DJI Phantom. I was thinking how much fun it would be to have one.

I decided to start small. I got a cheap little CX-10 drone. I was hooked at the start. I would fly it every day. Then I wanted to go larger. I got the Syma X5-HW. This came with a camera on it that somewhat worked. It was very grainy and low quality, but I didn't care. The line of sight flying was enough for me. I threw it around for a while, but was not totally satisfied.

Then, one day, I saw this guy on the side of the highway with his kid with a strange looking drone. The only thing is, he said that calling it a drone is a little bit of a misnomer as it was an autonomous flying machine. See, drones like the DJI Phantom actually fly on their own being it balances itself. You just push it around with the sticks. This thing is fully controlled by the pilot. You control the pitch, roll, and yaw alongside the throttle. So, a more accurate term would be an RC Multi-rotor or quadcopter.

After much research and time spend while I was injured into figuring these things out, I designed my first multi-rotor. I purchased the parts and put it all together.

And now, tomorrow, I get to fly this thing. I anticipate some fun coming along here.
