"I think starting with your birth was a good start."
"Yes, I think so also."
"See I told you, you just do the typing and I will do the telling then things will be ok."
"Don't get full of yourself now, we have barely covered any ground in the story. Also it was not that amazing of a story you know."
"Not my fault your birth sucked, I told the story as best I could with information I had."
"My birth did not suck, look at the cool doctor we had. Look at my heart, my birth was an astonishing event to all involved. You just downplayed it."
"I am not here to tell you how special you are. I would think all the doctors' tests over the years would have proved that already."
Confused? You can find part one here | Part 2
The boy goes to lie down on his bed. After typing up the story of his birth even more questions arose. He did not think that starting to tell his story would be so draining. The Voice did not make it less tiring, as always it seemed like if the Boy does not ask the right questions he won't get any answers. "Why do I always have to interrogate you for information?"
"Not always."
"Yes, always."
"Not interrogate."
"Yes, interrogate."
"Nah uh."
"Do you think I am a good person?" the Boy asks in earnest.
"See, it is pointless questions like that which make you think you need to interrogate me."
"What do you mean?" the boy asks with a smirk as he gets more comfortable in bed.
"You ask me to asnwer things even when you know the answer."
"Nah uh."
"Is too," the Voice answers, clearly agitated with the conversation. The boy always does this; it has no interest in the debate of whether they are good. The Voice knows that their actions will still determine this; it does not care to have premature discussions of moral grey areas.
"Like when I broke that bullies nose using my power for the first time, I did not feel like a good person."
"You acted good by protecting an innocent."
"Can I only do this while harming those I feel are not innocent?"
"Go to sleep, we will discuss this another time."
"You always say we will. What if another time never comes?" the Boy closes his eyes knowing an answer won't come. He thinks about the time his power first unleashed. It scared him. He remembers every part of it because the Voice remembers every part of it. The rage he felt could surely not come from a good person. These thoughts stormed in his mind as he fell asleep.
"You are good, but good is yet to be determined. Now sleep well Boy."
"Chills!"
Said The Little Voice.

How far back does this story go? I think this is the third installment I've read. It's very good!

Yes. It is the third one :) seems to be whenever I don't really know what to post I end up writing a part of this. Maybe there will be more, I don't force it since I don't have a story until I start writing. Which is going to be the excuse I use if it sucks or if I don't write more haha. Thanx for reading.

It seems this, (or something like it), would be a fantastic basis for a children's book, where the conversations could sometimes be helpful with kids' feelings and experiences with growing up. It could be a vehicle for helping them understand how and why things happen. I think the way you write these would draw them in. I don't know if you'd be interested in writing a kids' book; just sharing an observation that hit me while reading this whimsical tale you're weaving.

It is a cool idea... less baby than Peter Rabbit , still moral but also like an example of how to process information. @dreemsteem deals with children she could give some insight also. I think I understand what you are saying, will you be accompanying me with childrens poetry then?

Started thinking about that, and I think maybe little poetic intros to chapters, sections or changes of subject would be a nice touch in a kids' book, especially one with the kind of flow you have going on here with these. Intros wouldn't interrupt the way the story is told or be a distraction. More like narration.

Like this something new not my specific story, @dreemsteem. I don't think it is a bad idea. Do you think topical @free-reign? As for flow I am not too sure, the back and forth between inner voice and the boy?

Yes the conversation between the boy and the voice has a flow, to me, that comes from your writing style for this exercise you're doing. I think of you doing this same thing with a myriad of subjects, scenarios, lessons with either/both moral and educational concepts that you might be inclined to write about in these conversations.
It's your writing style for these that, IMO, has a really nice "feel," and that caused me to think about a children's book in this style with your writings. I think kids would love it!

Children's book.... hmmmm, I think it might be a little dark as it is... I rather it be for adults because then you can be freer with the expression.
My opinion !
I like the idea of books helping kids work through those inner thoughts... But this one seems a bit edgier than would be conducive for that process
Don't you think @penderis? Hmm not sure.
