Alprazolam (Xanax)
Alprazolam (Xanax) is a prescription medication used to treat anxiety and panic disorders. It belongs to a class of medications called benzodiazepines which act on the brain and nerves (central nervous system) to produce a calming effect.
Tylenol (acetaminophen)
Tylenol (acetaminophen) is an over-the-counter medication used to relieve pain and reduce fever. It is also an ingredient in many cold and flu preparations.
The two medications can be taken together if your healthcare provider approves it. However, because they both affect the central nervous system, there is potential for Alprazolam and Tylenol to interact with each other. As a result, your healthcare provider will likely monitor you closely if you take both medications together.
