KAPUSKASING DRUG BUST - Search warrants lead to numerous drug charges, including trafficking

On the morning of Sept. 6, 2019, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrant at a residence on De L'Etang Boulevard in the Town of Kapuskasing, Ont. and on a motor vehicle on Front Street in the Town of Hearst, Ont.

The occupants of the residence and of the motor vehicle were arrested.

Police have seized suspected controlled substances, a firearm and ammunition, drug paraphernalia and Canadian currency with a combined estimated street value of $17,000.

Ronald Landriault, 46-years-old, of Kapuskasing, Ont., has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) CDSA,
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine contrary to section 5(2) CDSA,
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Oxycodone contrary to section 5(2) CDSA,
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
  • Two counts of Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition contrary to section 86(1) CC.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing, Ont., on Nov. 28, 2019, to answer to the charges.

Tricia Anderson-Landriault, 50-years-old, of Kapuskasing, Ont., has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine contrary to section 5(2) CDSA,
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Oxycodone contrary to section 5(2) CDSA,
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) CC.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing, Ont., on Oct. 28, 2019, to answer to the charges.

Keven Lavigne-Rousseau, 30-years-old, of Fauquier, Ont., has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine contrary to section 5(2) CDSA and Possession of Illicit Cannabis contrary to section 8(1) of the Cannabis Act (CA).

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing, Ont., on Oct. 28, 2019, to answer to the charges.

Stefan Lizotte, 41-years-old, of Kapuskasing, Ont., has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Oxycodone contrary to section 5(2) CDSA and Possession of Illicit Cannabis contrary to section 8(1) CA.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing, Ont., on Oct. 28, 2019, to answer to the charges.
