LSD

This was most likely the most unique experience I've ever had when I was younger. I seriously doubt it can be topped by anything else and I've tried believe me. Unicorn ideas rarely come along, but that was it: I want to try acid. Luckily I had a few friends who were pros and at that time I lived in the jurisdiction where getting it wasn't that hard, expensive and you weren't risk getting anything else instead. And so it began.

I got four blotters. Friend took one to test the strength, said it was definitely acid, but I should take whats left to really experience it. And the next weekend I gladly followed his advice, partly because I trusted his expertise and partly because why not. Like, what's the worst that could happen?

The plan was to drop it, wait forty minutes and then go out to explore city outskirts, parks, you get the idea. That part was executed perfectly and I was fine probably roughly 80-90 minutes into the trip. And then it slowly started building up. First sound became distorted, like it got an extra dimensions with bass boost and crispiness. My breath shorten and time slowed down or my perception of time completely shifted to a concept I wasn't fully able to grasp.

At that time we were passing alongside the creek, with surroundings being rather dirty, cause people notoriously dumped trash there and pretty whatever they've considered unnecessary. But not for me. It was like walking in fucking magic forest. I kid you not. I was honestly expecting goddamn Bambi to jump out from bushes and lead our happy pack into Disney like adventure. But that never happen which in the hindsight is very disappointing.

Then one of guys I was tripping with started telling me about power of suggestion, how easy it is to believe in things with altered mental state. My talking ability at that point was rather limited, I was mainly communicating by laughing and smiling, but was able to ask for an example. He said: 'so people on acid can often see things in the same color'. And boom, everything turned pink. Well fuck me from behind and call me a rooster. How do you respond to that.

After that we were walking next to a few old empty warehouses, similar in structure and roads looked very similar too. And I got stuck in the loop. I was in the constant state of Deja Vu and I would swear on my life we've just passed this building like five minutes ago. They explained to me that this is pretty common as well, to get stuck on one thing and being unable to move one. So in the next seven minutes it took us to pass through old industrial area I probably managed to say: 'we've been here five minutes ago' about 45 times.

We've entered the park, found a bench to sit on and I strategically laid on grass. I watched sunset. It was very nice sunset. I don't recall sunsets being from a comic book with so many bright exploding colors, but I was able to cope with that. And then I got baited into watching trees. 'Mate, you should go see that tree up close'. What's the depth of tree bark? Well, about 3 feet when you're on LSD. And it was moving and looked very very very alive. Pretty cool.

It started getting dark, so we headed back home. I was slowly coming down and I started sharing with the group my experiences. We had bbq, laughed about stupid shit and finally when I was tired I went to bed. I don't recall having too much trouble falling asleep, but I was a bit fucked next day, so I just spent it in bed. Good times.
