It was a very positive day all around, though towards the end I have continued to ponder certain aspects of people’s treatments in here.
It’s looking like I’ll be in here for another 2 weeks and I will have to adopt a different perspective if I am to make it out of here without snapping.
The frequent flyers in here all hang in there little group and whilst everyone says they are in here to get better, at the first sign of discomfort they rush to grab PRN’s and get off their heads, It’s possible I’m just bitter they get better drugs than me but on the other side of the coin it’s not what I am in here for so I would most likely reject them anyway
I find it very counterproductive to give addicts other drugs of dependency. They dose up the alcoholics on Benzos whilst the heroine addicts are all on Methadone and other concoctions that see them on the nod throughout the day.
Whilst I am not entirely against giving people drugs to ease the pain a lot of these people have been to rehab more than 4 or 5 times. Some as high as 10 times.
They sit there saying how good this rehab is over the other but at the same time is it really such a good rehab if your back in here within three months after falling off the wagon again?
