There are multiple reasons why you and I could be depressed.
Family, grief, loss of loved ones, financial troubles, your past and present life events, even giving birth (postpartum depression.)
Depression can lead to drug addictions, which I have fallen weak to in the past.
It was fairly easy to get over without rehab and what not, however I was very selective with my drug usage.
For instance, I stayed away from the confirmed drugs that really hurt you, like meth, crack, heroin etc.
It all started with Marijuana, which in all honesty I would partake in again if I was at a party or old and didn't have much to do.
My friends convinced me DXM was a fairly safe drug to use, which I had abused for a good two weeks or so during 18-19 years old.
I kicked that dumb habbit, but as soon as I hit 21 I started drinking a lot.
I started drinking fairly heavy, around a fifth a day for almost 2 years after work.
I pretty much pickled my liver. Now I can't drink 8 beers without feeling like garbage the next day, probably doesn't help that I'm not too healthy either.
At 23 years old, I began eating some shrooms here and there and having a blast.
This is where my life took turns for the worse, I started wanting a stronger psychedelic experience.
Eventually I had messed with some LSD and Nbomes for a while there, thinking they were reasonably safe.
Boy was I wrong, that crap gave me huge paranoia for like 6 months after I stopped taking them.
Don't be an idiot like me and use lsd and designer psychedelics. They are not safe people.
For the record I never noticed any side effects of using shrooms, it was until my venture for a stronger psychedelic did I experience any side effects. (Slight HPPD was experienced during my recovery process.)
PSA: Don't turn into a fucking hippy that attends electric forest concerts, claiming crystals have souls and shit, when taking psychedelics. I didn't and you don't need to either.
Just stick to the reefer if you are going to use drugs.
If drug addiction is real, I'm doing a great job of keeping myself off the shit. It's a lot easier then most of you may think.
Sometimes I like to place my mindset back to when I was a little kid and pure, kind of place my mindset in that time period.
Makes it easier I think.
